In a World Rushing By, Let’s Remember What Matters

In a World Rushing By, Let’s Remember What Matters
By Amy Boardman

Have you felt it lately?
That pressure to go faster, do more, keep up?

We live in a world that praises hustle and fills every moment with noise. But our souls were never meant to sprint at this pace. We were made to pause… to breathe… to notice.

That’s where art steps in.

Art helps us slow down. Whether you're holding a paintbrush or simply standing in front of a painting, something shifts. Time softens. Thoughts settle. And suddenly, the important things come into focus—faith, beauty, stillness, gratitude, God’s presence in the everyday.

That’s why I create—not just to share color or technique, but to offer space.
A quiet moment to remember what truly matters.

So today, friend, I invite you to pause.
Even just for a minute.
Look for beauty. Let it speak. Let it point you back to the One who paints every sunrise and shapes every leaf.

Because sometimes, it’s in the stillness that we hear Him most clearly.

One Scripture that reflects this is:

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Psalm 46:10

He is the Creator of each new day and the peace at its close. In fact, He placed rest into the rhythm of life itself—commanding a Sabbath, not as a burden, but as a gift. He knew we would need downtime… to reflect, to reset, to remember Him… to be reminded of what matters most.

Let art be one of those reminders.

With grace and gratitude,
Amy

Hello, I’m Amy Boardman, an artist based in Huntsville, Alabama, inspired by the beauty of nature, my Christian faith, and my Southern roots, while savoring life’s fleeting moments. My creative journey began in the rural Midwest and now flourishes in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Art captured my heart at a young age through my father’s teenage sketches, sparking a lifelong passion for painting. I work primarily in watercolor and acrylic.

My subjects include coastal and waterscapes, landscapes and places, pets and wildlife, still life and food—each piece created to honor the Creator and reflect the beauty that surrounds us. Rooted in gratitude and a love for God’s creation, I strive to share hope, joy, and encouragement through my art while celebrating the freedom and blessings of being American.
