Step For Commissioning A Painting:

Are you considering having a painting commissioned?

Instructions For A Commissioned Painting

Every custom painting begins with a story.

Whether it’s a beloved pet, a meaningful place, or a moment you never want to forget — art has a way of preserving what words can’t always express.

Amy Boardman is now accepting commissioned orders and would love to create a personalized painting just for you! Here’s how the process works:

1. Purchase & Inquire to Get Started 💰

If you are commissioning a pet portrait, click this link: ‘Order Your Soulful Pet Portrait’ to reserve your spot. Full payment is required before work begins. You’ll also receive instructions for submitting your reference photos one your order is placed.

If you are commissiong a custom landscape, vacation memory, or other subject, please first click this link: ‘Email Details For Commission’ to share your vision. This allows us to ensure we are a good fit before proceeding and work out the pricing and details of your project.

✨Please note: I create artwork that reflects what is pure, honorable, and pleasing to God. I do not paint nudity, crude, or inappropriate scenes. If your project falls outside these values, I kindly encourage you to seek an artist who specializes in that style.

2.Share Your Vision 💌

After purchasing (for pet portraits) or after we have discussed your idea (for custom subjects), you will email me the details for your painting, including the size, medium, and subject. Once we agree on the details and pricing, I will email you a contract outlining everything along with a payment link and my contact number. Full payment must be completed before the work begins and will serve as your digital signature agreeing to the terms of the contract.

If you are interested in a pet portrait specifically, you can also click this link: 'Pet Portraits Commission Guidelines' for more detailed information and tips for choosing the best reference photos.

3. Provide High-Quality Photos 📸

Please send at least two clear, high-resolution images. Make sure you own or have permission to use the photos. Low-quality or pixelated images can affect the details and overall quality of the final artwork.

4. Approval & Sketches ✍🏻

If your commission involves combining multiple photos, I’ll send a preliminary sketch for approval. If not, I’ll share an initial progress photo. You’ll receive a final preview before shipping. Timely approval is essential to avoid delays.

5. Timeline & Completion

Smaller paintings usually take 3-7 business days to complete. Larger or more complex pieces may take longer. Clear communication and timely photo submissions help ensure the project stays on track.

6. Shipping 📦

I ship via USPS and UPS. Shipping times may vary, especially during winter or due to delays from weather or strikes. Please note: I’m not responsible for shipping delays once the artwork is dispatched, but I’ll keep you updated on any issues.

7. Materials 🎨

I use only the highest-quality materials to create artwork that’s both beautiful and long-lasting.

8. Examples & Testimonials 🖼️
