Why Commission a Pet Portrait?

Plus, your purchase makes a difference! Every commission helps provide food, care, and safe homes for animals in need. Ten percent of every pet portrait commission is donated to non-profit, no-kill animal shelters such as A New Leash on Life and Friends of Rescue—organizations that helped our family welcome four beloved grand-pets. My studio sidekick, Ki-Lani, also joined our family through Friends of Rescue!
Pet portraits are also meaningful gifts for life moments like graduations, anniversaries, birthdays, first-time home buyers—or simply to say “I love you.” They serve as heartfelt reminders of love, comfort, and the loyal companions who have been there through thick and thin.

Steps to Commission Your Pet Portrait:
Choose Your Portrait Size & Payment
Select your preferred size: 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, 16x20, or Other.
Small (4x6, 5x7, 8x10 inches): Fits easily on a desk or shelf; standard frames are widely available.
Medium (11x14, 12x16): Ideal wall portrait size; can be framed yourself, or I can provide a frame for an additional fee.
Large (16x20+): Statement piece for prominent display; framing available upon request.
Full payment is required before I begin creating your custom commission portrait.
For custom sizes, multi-pet portraits, or general inquiries, click ‘Email Me’ to learn more. If your portrait includes more than one pet or a different size than listed, I will provide the details, and once we agree, I will send you an invoice with a secure payment link.

Share Your Pet Portrait Vision:
After completing your payment, click ‘Send Pet Portrait Commissions Details’ to provide all the information for your portrait, including:
Preferred Portrait Style - Headshot, Head & Shoulders, or Full Body
Size Preference - Choose the dimensions for your painting.
Medium Choice - Watercolor or Acrylic
Photos of Your Pet - 2-3 high-quality images for reference. Please ensure you own the rights to the photos
Personality Notes & Details - Favorite Toys, Accessories, or Traits to Capture
Background Preference - White, Watercolor Wash, or as Reference Photo
Special Instructions - Any additional requests or details you’d like included.
Once I receive your details, I’ll begin creating your custom pet portrait.

Photo Submission Guidelines
To ensure the best results, please provide at least two high-quality, clear photos of your pet.
Photos should be well-lit, in focus, and high resolution.
Avoid low-quality, pixelated, blurry, or poorly-lit images, as the reference quality directly impacts the level of detail in the final painting.
Please ensure you own the rights to the photo references.
Detailed instructions for submitting photos will be provided in the “Send Pet Portrait Commission Details” form.

Select the framing style that best suits your pet:
Headshot – Focuses on the pet’s head, face, and expression.
Head & Shoulders – Includes the pet’s head and upper body.
Full Body – Captures the pet from head to tail.
Please ensure your reference photos reflect your chosen framing for the best results.
Payment Confirmation & Invoice:
Once I’ve received your details and reference photos, I will confirm the portrait style, size, references, and other important details.
Single-Pet Portraits: Price is confirmed in your initial order.
Multi-Pet Portraits: Each additional pet incurs an extra fee, calculated as 10–30% of the total portrait price, depending on portrait size and composition complexity:
Small (5x7, 8x10 inches) – [Insert price/percentage range]
Medium (11x14, 12x16 inches) – [Insert price/percentage range]
Large (16x20 inches and up) – [Insert price/percentage range]
Note: The final price is determined by the number of pets and the complexity of the composition.

Full payment is required before I begin creating the artwork and before shipping.

Smaller Portraits: Typically completed within 3–7 business days.
Larger or More Complex Portraits: Completion time may be longer, depending on detail and complexity.
Delivery Notes:
Shipping times may vary due to weather or carrier delays; you will be kept updated with a tracking number once your artwork is dispatched.
Shipping delays are beyond my control once the portrait leaves my studio.
Each portrait is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely.
